Check out what I got in the mail!!!
A gallon of coconut oil. Now this stuff is awesome for moisturizing your body and some people even use it to moisturize their hair. Here recently it has been very popular as a cooking oil, but I’m not 100% convinced that it is completely healthy. Research studies’ conclusions are conflicting (go figure) and so I was a bit confused as to the best way to use this awesome blog win from toxic beauty blog. After checking things out on my own I researched my professor from college who has always been very helpful with my inquiries, but she confirmed that nothing has been completely 100% confirmed about coconut oil. So in conclusion, I have a gallon of coconut oil that I’m going to start experimenting with. Yes it is a saturated fat (saturated far has been linked to artery clogging), but some researchers conclude that the lauric acid within the oil prevents the artery clogging properties of animal saturated fats. (please correct me if I’m wrong here)
Any suggestions on what I should cook with my coconut oil? Do you have any favorite recipes?
